the work looks at familiar objects that gradually become part of the background of everyday life. keys, wallets, sunglasses, and phones placed on the shelf carry traces of someone’s habits and movements. reflected in the mirror, the simple act of storing these objects becomes a still life on the wall, turning an ordinary scene into a shifting view of the relationship between objects, people, and space.

이 작업은 익숙한 물건들이 늘 같은 자리에 놓이며 어느새 배경이 되어버리는 일상에 주목한다. 선반 위에 모인 열쇠, 지갑, 선글라스, 휴대폰 같은 사물들은 누군가의 동선과 습관, 시간이 쌓인 흔적으로 남고, 거울은 이를 정면이 아닌 다른 각도에서 비춘다. 물건을 올려두고 보관하는 일상적인 행위는 반사를 통해 벽 위에 걸린 정물화처럼 공간 안에 나타나며, 익숙한 생활의 장면은 매번 조금 다른 풍경으로 바뀐다. 이 작업은 물건과 사람, 그리고 공간 사이에 이미 존재하지만 의식하지 않았던 관계를 드러내고, 늘 그 자리에 있던 일상을 다시 바라보게 한다.

the twelve compartments arranged in a long horizontal line hold records gathered over a year. mirrors on either side of each compartment connect the objects within it to those in the next, allowing separate moments to appear as one continuous scene. through reflection, individual records come together as a single memory.

가로로 길게 이어진 12개의 칸은 한 해의 시간을 따라 쌓이는 기록을 담는다. 각 칸의 양옆에 놓인 거울은 그 안의 물건과 다음 칸의 물건을 자연스럽게 이어주며, 서로 다른 시점에 놓인 사물들이 하나의 연속된 장면처럼 보이게 한다. 매달 쌓이는 물건과 그 흔적들은 각각의 기록으로 남는 동시에, 반사를 통해 서로 연결되며 하나의 기억을 이룬다.

this shelf reflects the upper surfaces of the objects placed in each compartment, offering another view of the everyday things gathered within it. family belongings, personally collected objects, medals from running events, and a dog’s favorite toys form a small collection within the shelf. bringing together different memories and preferences, the shelf naturally binds these objects into a single memory. as the arrangement changes over time, the shelf becomes more than simple storage, leaving an image of my family’s everyday life on the wall.

이 선반은 각 칸에 놓인 물건의 윗면을 반사해, 일상의 물건들이 모인 모습을 다른 각도에서 보여준다. 가족들의 물건, 개인적으로 수집한 사물, 달리기 대회에서 받은 메달이나 강아지가 좋아하는 장난감처럼 서로 다른 기억과 취향을 가진 물건들은 선반 안에서 작은 컬렉션을 이루고, 선반은 이들을 자연스럽게 하나의 기억으로 묶어준다. 시간이 지나면서 물건의 구성은 달라지고, 선반은 단순한 수납을 넘어 나와 가족의 일상이 벽 위에 하나의 그림처럼 남는 장면이 된다.

in feng shui, a mirror opposite the entrance is believed to reflect good energy back outside. hidden from the front, N1 side appears only along the diagonal path toward the door, allowing the user to check their appearance before leaving. the work reconsiders the familiar relationship between a mirror and its place in the home.

풍수에서는 현관 정면의 거울이 집 안으로 들어오는 좋은 기운을 다시 밖으로 돌려보낸다고 여긴다. N1 side는 이처럼 현관과 거울 사이에 이미 자리 잡은 관습 속에서, 거울의 위치와 사용 방식에 대해 다시 생각해본 작업이다. 정면에서는 드러나지 않는 거울은 외출을 위해 현관으로 향하는 사선의 동선에서만 모습을 보이며, 나가기 전 자연스럽게 자신의 모습을 확인하도록 한다. 이 작업은 익숙한 물건과 공간의 관계를 조금 다르게 풀어본다.

the long narrow mirror was designed to be shared. using a simple principle of reflection, the design allows three people to use a single mirror at the same time. the mirror can also be hung horizontally and used with children.

아내와 함께 볼 수 있는 좁고 긴 거울이 필요했다. 간단한 반사원리를 이용해 세명이 동시에 한 거울을 사용할 수 있게끔 디자인했다. 가로로 걸어 아이들와 함께 보는 거울로도 사용이 가능하다.

extending the original principle, this version stretches five times the length of its predecessor, allowing a continuous line of reflection that invites multiple people to use it simultaneously, each finding their own place along its axis. at 750mm, the mirror begins to behave less like an object and more like architecture. it divides space, extends it, and quietly reorganizes how a room is perceived, becoming a full presence on the wall. 

기존의 원리를 확장한 이 버전은 N1 보다 길이를 다섯 배로 늘려, 하나의 연속된 반사 선을 형성하며 여러 사람이 동시에 각자의 위치에서 사용할 수 있도록 한다. 폭이 넓어지면서 이 거울은 더 이상 단순한 오브제가 아니라 하나의 건축적 요소처럼 작동하기 시작한다. 공간을 나누고, 확장하며, 공간이 인식되는 방식을 조용히 재구성하며 벽면 전체를 장악하는 하나의 존재로 드러난다.

the work explores the theme of expansibility. in  together, circular units interconnect to form a singular, unified structure. these elements adapt to their specific functions through variations in color, assembly methods, and scale, manifesting in a diverse range of forms. the intersection of colored panels and reflective surfaces generates new visual layers, where reflections shift continuously according to the viewer's angle and position. this process does not merely alter the object itself but transforms the surrounding environment, creating a dynamic and ever-evolving spatial experience.

작업을 할 때 확장성을 자주 고민한다. together의 원판들은 서로 연결되어 하나의 구조를 이루며, 용도에 따라 색, 결합 방식, 크기가 달라지면서 각기 다른 형태로 완성된다. 컬러판과 반사판이 교차하며 새로운 시각적 레이어를 만들고, 그 위에 맺히는 반사는 각도와 위치에 따라 끊임없이 다른 장면을 만들어내며 주변 환경까지 변화시킨다.

laser table

the laser table is a modular, system-based furniture piece that prioritizes efficient fabrication and simplified assembly. within a single structural logic, it accommodates a range of tabletop sizes and heights, allowing the form to expand and adapt to different uses and spaces.
every joint between the top, bottom, and columns is laser-cut for precision, eliminating the need for welding or threaded machining and enabling straightforward assembly using standard nuts. the column interiors are carefully detailed through pipe laser processing, with tight tolerances that keep the nuts securely in place during assembly.

레이저 테이블은 제작 효율과 조립 단순화를 기반으로 한 시스템 가구로, 하나의 구조 안에서 다양한 상판 사이즈와 높이를 자유롭게 확장·변형할 수 있는 모듈형 테이블이다. 상판과 하판, 그리고 기둥의 모든 연결 장부 짜임은 레이저 커팅으로 제작되었으며, 용접이나 나사산 가공 없이 기성 너트를 활용해 간편하게 조립할 수 있도록 설계되었다. 특히 너트가 삽입되는 기둥부는 파이프 레이저 가공의 특성을 활용해, 조립 과정에서 너트가 내부로 빠지지 않도록 미세한 공차까지 고려해 정밀하게 제작되었다.

pair dining table

the table was designed to be used together with OD. whenever we use the table, she lies down and waits on the floor underneath it. the upper table is for us to use, and the inverted lower table is designed for her, with a rug placed on the bottom panel so she can lie comfortably.

나의 강아지 OD와 함께 사용할 테이블을 만들고 싶었다. 우리가 테이블을 사용할때마다 OD가 테이블 밑 바닥에 엎드려 기다린다. 윗테이블은 우리가 사용하고 뒤집힌형상의 아래테이블은 오디가 사용할수 있게끔 밑판을 러그로 만들어줬다.

the pair floor lamp is a lighting piece composed of two distinct colors, thoughtfully paired to evoke the tones of the forest and the sky.

pair floor lamp는 두 가지 컬러의 조합으로 이루어진 조명이다. 서로 다른 색을 하나의 구조 안에서 페어링함으로써, 숲의 깊이 있는 녹색과 하늘의 맑고 확장된 색감을 함께 담아낸다. 이 압축된 대비와 조화는 공간 안에서 자연의 감각을 은은하게 환기시키며, 빛을 통해 두 색의 관계를 더욱 부드럽게 드러낸다.

crunch bench

the design addresses the inherent aesthetic tension between domestic environments and fitness equipment. by blurring the boundary between these two realms, the piece emerges as an exercise object that integrates seamlessly into everyday living spaces. designed to sit harmoniously alongside a sofa, the form functions simultaneously as functional furniture and fitness equipment. the use of outdoor fabric ensures durability and ease of maintenance, while oak handles and wheels enhance mobility. this allows the piece to move fluidly within a space, adapting to its surroundings and the user's needs without disrupting the domestic atmosphere.

집과 운동기구가 자연스럽게 공존하지 못하고 있다고 느꼈다. 그 사이의 경계를 흐리고, 일상의 공간 안에 자연스럽게 스며드는 운동 도구를 만들고 싶었다. 거실 소파 옆에 조용히 놓일 수 있는 벤치를 상상하며, 가구이자 운동기구로 동시에 기능하는 형태를 고민했다. 아웃도어 원단은 내구성과 관리의 편의성을 더하고, 오크 손잡이와 바퀴는 사물의 이동성을 높여 공간 안에서 유연하게 위치를 바꿀 수 있도록 한다.

color dumbbell

the design addresses the typical aesthetic disconnect between domestic environments and exercise equipment. by blurring the boundaries between the two, the piece creates a seamless integration of fitness utility into everyday living spaces.
this dumbbell functions as both a high-performance tool and a sculptural object. its form is meticulously balanced to ensure that neither its functional utility nor its aesthetic presence takes precedence, allowing both qualities to coexist with equal weight. color acts as a vital element in this equilibrium, facilitating a natural integration into diverse interior surroundings.

집과 운동기구가 자연스럽게 공존하지 못하고 있다고 느꼈다. 그 사이의 경계를 흐리고, 일상의 공간 안에 자연스럽게 스며드는 운동기구를 만들고 싶었다. 이 덤벨은 운동기구이면서 동시에 공간에 놓이는 오브제이기도 하다. 덤벨과 오브제 중 어느 한쪽으로 치우쳐 인식되지 않도록, 두 성격이 동등하게 느껴지는 형태를 고민했다. 색은 그 균형를 조율하며 사물이 공간에 자연스럽게 스며들도록 돕는다.
